A new app to help "Win Friends and Influence People"

Dale Carnegie "Remember that a person's name is, to that person, the sweetest and most important sound in any language."
Dale Carnegie published his blockbuster "How to Win Friends and Influence People," in 1936. He highlighted remembering names as one of the 6 ways to make people like you - a skill vital to both your personal and business life. Namerick captures some of Dale's old-time wisdom with the use of new technology.
Scotty, Founder: " Dale's teachings had a profound impact on my entrepreneurial life. I'm proud to have created a tool to help us all put some of his practices to use. "

Got Mommy Brain? There's an app for that!

Image credits: lovelacemedia.infoSarah Reidy, Writer/Mom : "Don't worry. There is some good news: you are not alone and it's probably not early-onset Alzheimer's. The truth is moms like us have a million things to think about at any given moment of the day and ... let's be honest...remembering the names of our coworkers, the new couple down the street, the parents of our kid's friends, or our husband's football buddies are lower on the list of priorities when we have little people depending on us for their very survival! "
Jeremy, Founder: "Moms of all ages need Namerick. My mom may be the biggest fan of all! (unbiased I'm sure!) Feel free to email her and ask :)"

Just in Time for Family Reunions and Office Christmas Parties

Image thanks to: http://fundraisinggoodtimes.wordpress.com/2011/08/12/family-reunion-givin/Have large family reunions around the holidays? Not just 1st and 2nd cousins, but 3rd, 4th and 5th cousins too? Yes they're family but that might be all you remember. It seems the less you remember about them (their names for a start!), the more they recall about you.

And of course there is no holiday event more geared towards the saving glories of Namerick than the Office Christmas Party. Maybe you remember your coworkers names.... but their spouses?
Jeremy, Founder " I actually first came up with the idea for Namerick when I was trying to keep my girlfriends family straight. SO many names. Now she turns to me and Namerick for reminders of her cousins' names! "

Namerick For Business English names can be hard to learn and remember for international business people. Namerick uses US Census data to autopopulate the name entry field meaning entering a name often takes just getting the first letter correct. Jeremy, Founder: " I have an American friend that lives in Japan whose Japanese fiance has requested Namerick for her entire family to learn names before their upcoming wedding!"

How fast is Namerick?

We built the Namerick with speed in mind. Sometimes we have only seconds to enter a name. Namerick uses US Census data to autocomplete the name you're typing. Our users averaged less than 5 seconds to get a new name entered into Namerick.

Is there anything like this out there?

There are a few other competitors that have attempted to solve the same problem. Let’s be honest.. it’s a BIG one!
Whoodl - $0.99 - Stores and lists names like an address book
Whats his name - $0.99 - Stores names and other cookie-cutter information
Notepad - Free - Just the act of writing names aids memory, but it doesn't support entrepreneurs like us!
Phone's Address Book - Free - Stores names and contact info - people tend to get lost without context, location, or search-ability

How much will Namerick cost?

Namerick is a ‘first page’ utility that has already shown to improve people’s memory of names and personal facts. Though user surveys indicated a price point of $4.99 to be fair, we chose to make it even more affordable for all those that are bad with names - FREE.

What is a "Namerick"?

namerick (n) : a mnemonic device that utilizes imagery and alliteration to make a name more memorable. (a technique of memory athletes!)
Which is more memorable?
The word "Robert"
or
A mental image of "Robert Riding Rhinos?"

Why not just use address book?

Ever add someone's name and number to your address book and then forget who they are 2 weeks later? It happened to 90% of the people we asked. Your address book isn't searchable by keywords and doesn't provide categories to sort names. Namerick provides a bridge between getting to know someone and the other forms in which we communicate.

Have you taken any investment?

Nope. We've bootstrapped this app with the skill-sets of a few gumption-filled entrepreneurs.

What versions of the iPhone are you compatible with?

Anyone with an iPhone or iPod Touch can use Namerick.

When are you going to make the app for blackberry, android, etc?

We are currently working on making the Namerick experience on the iPhone as solid as possible. Only then will we consider other platforms.

What features can we expect in the next version?

Some integrations you’ll like! Let us know what other features you’d like to see.
